One day he may be there,
One day he may not,
He loves the sun,
And lucky him, he never burns,
For if he did he would not be black.
This poem was about a shadow. The next poem you do not have to guess, and there is no personification in use.
In school we learn of Pompeii,
Which was located near a bay.
One day the volcano Vesuvius burned it down,
And ashes were left of the town.
Over the years forgotten was Pompeii,
Pushed out of mind and out of way.
Then it was discovered, just by chance,
And the archeologists found it in a trance.
For they had found the city of old,
Which was burned by fires they had been told.
Poor, forgotten, lonely Pompeii,
Pushed out of mind and out of way.
Here is my third and last poem for today:
When daylight is gone I am there,
And if you are frightened, I do not care.
For I am the darkness of the night,
And despise daytime's feeble light.
My power so strong it envelops all,
Including your strong, "protective" wall.
I do what I please, whenever I want,
I take joy in a nice, long taunt.
